I’ve admired good graffiti for many years. I was reading about graffiti artists, came across an online tutorial and decided to try hand drawing some graffiti style lettering. This took a few hours and a lot of erasing. I regret drawing it on graph paper but it was the only thing I had handy at the time. I’ve since acquired a sketch book.

The image was scanned,  cleaned up in Photoshop, coloured, textured and imposed over a photo of our basement wall. I haven’t tried to hand draw anything serious in years (normally I do stick people and they’re about as horribly drawn as stick people can be) and I’m happy with the way this turned out. I’m going to keep playing with lettering.
